Using BrewT tea brewers we will lead an informal but educational tasting through our Black, Green, Herbal and Chai selections. Idle Tea is available at Analog Cafe and through Fratello directly. Analog staff will be on hand as well.

These selections will change due to seasonality of the tea-harvesting season in each region.  Currently we have 7 varieties of tea to choose from.  They are:

Sencha Shin Ryoku, Premium Green Tea

Premium grade, unfermented/roasted pure Organic green tea from the Honyama region of Japan in the 2010 harvest season.

Flavor profile: Oceanic with balanced flavors of spinach and natural birch.

Houjicha Gold, Green Tea

Mildly roasted Organic green tea from the Honyama region of Japan in the 2010 harvest season.

Flavor profile: Toasted seaweed and raw sesame flavors.

Earl Grey Cream, Organic Black Tea

Organic black tea from the Satrupa Estate in the Assam region of India during the 2010 harvest season.

Flavor profile: Full bodied, combining hints of lemon and orange with floral lavender.

Cream of Assam, Organic Black Tea

Top tier Organic black tea from the Satrupa Estate in the Assam region of India during the 2010 harvest season.

Flavor profile: Smooth orange blossom honey with a hint of spice.

Organic Rooibus Tea, Herbal Tea:

This is a Superior Cut organic Red Rooibus tea from South Africa during the 2010 harvest season.

Flavor profile: Distinctly natural flavors throughout finishing with a maple sap.

Peppermint Tea, Herbal Tea

Organic freshly harvested mint from Oregon, USA.

Flavor profile: Clean and crisp with a long refreshing finish.

Organic Indian Chai

A blend of Organic black tea and spices from India.

Flavor profile: Warming flavors with an orange zest finish.

Rwanda COOPAC Fair Trade gives you a sweet whiney aroma, with a long lingering grapefruit acidity.  Mild toffee & milk chocolate flavours finish with a crisp mouthfeel.   This is a Fully Washed process coffee which mixes the varietals Bourbon and Mayaguez which were grown at an elevation of 1500-2000 meters in the Rutsiro & Rubava Districts in the Western Province near Gisenyi.

COOPAC is a fair trade certified cooperative located near Lake Kivu on the steep slopes of volcanic mountains.  COOPAC began with 110 farmers in 2001 and today has over 2,200 members.  This cooperative owns a washing station situated near Gisenyi along the shores of Lake Kivu.

COOPAC is committed to environmental and social sustainability in addition to producing high quality coffee.  Waste by-products from processing are used as fertilizer rather than discarded into the lake, and shade trees are distributed to farmers to prevent soil erosion.  COOPAC has assisted in the construction of a school, health-care clinics, roads and bridges in the community.  The cooperative also has a program to distribute cows and goats to the most productive farmers and provides farmers with an agricultural advisor to teach the latest production methods.

Fratello Coffee Roasters is looking for fanatical coffee professionals! Fratello is excited and proud to be joining the Calgary Farmers Market in its move to a new location off of Blackfoot and Heritage opening early February. We are actively looking for the right people to join our team. This will be a high volume location that will be laser focused on the quality of product and customer service excellence.

We are seeking individuals who are motivated to prepare coffee using many different brew methods and communicate their passion for coffee to customers. Work with dual Slayer Espresso machines to prepare espresso based drinks, engage with customers on our analogue handmade drip stations for by the cup brewing and work as a team to drive sales of killer locally roasted coffee!

The farmers market is on the weekends, so we are looking for a minimum Friday-Sunday commitment as well as potential hours on Thursday. Join us at the roasting plant to cup coffees and choose offering for the weekend. We are excited about this café and would love to meet you to share more details.
